PRODUCTION SHEET: Preparations

Preparations functionality displays the preparation needed for ingredients or sub-recipes included in recipes added to the Production Sheet, for example defrosting or cooking 1 day before usage.

Before you can utilize the preparations functionality, you need to define preparation types in the system's basic data, for example defrosting, cooking.

• Choose BASIC DATA – Groups – Preparation Types
• Add a new preparation type by choosing Add.
• Enter a name for the preparation type. You can also add additional information.
• Save the preparation type by choosing Save.

You can edit an existing preparation type by double-clicking on it or through the Open button.

You can delete a preparation type by selecting it first on the list and then choosing Delete on the top of the window.

• Choose FOOD – Recipes
• Select the recipe which includes ingredients requiring preparation, and open it by double-clicking on it. (You can search recipes by name and filter them for example based on diet or groupings.)
• Once you have opened the recipe, select the ingredient to which you want to add preparation information and open it by double-clicking on it.
• Select the required preparation type in the Preparation tab and add information on how many days before the actual preparation the preparations need to be done. The information you have added will be saved once you close the window.

TIP: If the recipe includes a combination of several ingredients requiring preparation (for example a marinade), it is beneficial if you create a sub-recipe of these ingredients and add it into the recipe instead of individual ingredients. This way the preparation information can be added easier.

When a recipe including preparation information has been added into a production sheet, the system will automatically display the ingredients or sub-recipes requiring preparation on the specified time in the preparation information of the production sheet preceding the actual preparation date.

Preparations can be browsed either directly on the screen or they can be printed on paper.

Go to the preparation window through the Preparation button on the top of the Production Sheet window. Preparations are displayed by preparation type. You can change the preparation type displayed through the drop-down menu on the top of the window.

All ingredients or sub-recipes requiring preparation are displayed in the first window according to the preparation type selected.

Moving on to the next window through the previous/next buttons enables you to browse the ingredients or sub-recipes one recipe at a time. If a sub-recipe is included in the preparations, it will be displayed in a separate window after the recipe in question.

With the Unit of Measurement button you can browse the amounts of ingredients with different units of measurement. The Products button will display the purchasing names for ingredients, in case the ingredient is linked to a stock card.

You can close the Preparation window by choosing Close.

• Choose Print – Preparation on the top of the Production Sheet window.
• Change the print settings, if needed, both on the General and Additional Settings tabs.
• Once the settings have been selected, click on the Print button.

The recipe to be printed will be displayed in a new tab in your browser for print preview. In case some other application has been set as default for opening pdf files, the print preview will be displayed in that application.

Note that popup windows from the system's web address need to be allowed in the browser you are using, for the system to be able to open the print preview tab. Print the recipe on paper by choosing the Print function on your browser’s settings or the Print function in the default application. Choose the printer and modify the settings if needed.
