Adding A Serving

This manual tells you how to add a serving.

With the Servings function you can compile recipes and ingredients into servings. A serving is always created for one serving, such as à la carte dishes or retail items like filled sandwiches. You can also compile a whole meal as a serving.

On the menu the contents of a serving can be broken down into rows so you can add for example a whole meal through the Servings tab, and compiling a menu will be quicker and easier.

With this function you will easily get the nutritive calculations and the cost calculations for servings.

 

Adding A Serving

  • Choose FOOD - Servings from the menu bar on the left.
  • Choose Add from the top of the window.
  • Enter a name for the serving.

Adding Ingredients And Recipes

Add ingredients and recipes in the serving from the Ingredients and Recipes tabs on the right.

You can search for ingredients and recipes. Enter the name or part of the name of the ingredient or recipe you are searching for and then press the Enter or the Tab button on your keyboard. The system will display all the rows containing the name on the list. You can filter the information on the list using Main group and Subgroup groupings.

Add the ingredient or the recipe in the serving by double clicking on it. You can also add it by dragging it on to the serving.

Going Through The Rows In The Serving

Go through the rows in the serving and edit the portion size if needed. The system will automatically calculate the price per portion based on the portion size, provided that the price information has been saved for the Ingredients in the Basic Data – Ingredients function. The ingredient cost will be displayed on the bottom of the window.

Adding An Instruction

Add an instruction for the serving. Go to the Instruction tab on the right and choose Add. Enter a header, if needed, and write the instruction. Save the instruction by choosing Accept.

Adding Images

You can add images in the serving through the Images tab on the right. Choose Add image and choose the file from your desktop. You can enter a name for the image if needed.

Additional Information On The Serving

You can add additional information on the serving in the General info tab on the right – Including Additional name and groupings. Groupings are managed in the Basic Data. You can utilize groupings when searching for servings both in the Servings and in the Menus functions.

Nutritive Values, Allergens and CO2

You can check the nutritive values, allergens and CO2 factors through the Nutritive values tab and CO2 tab on the right. Note that the nutritive values, allergens and CO2 factors have to be in place for all the ingredients used in the serving for the system to calculate this information correctly.

 

Save the serving by choosing Save on the top of the window.
