Multi-layer Sub-recipes (Free Additional Feature)
The sub-recipes functionality enables you to have several layers of recipes as sub-recipes under a recipe. Without this functionality you can have several sub-recipes in one recipe but only in one layer. In other words you cannot add sub-recipes to sub-recipes.
Sub-recipes is a free additional feature. If you want to use it, please contact servicedesk@jamix.com
NOTE! Once the Sub-recipes functionality is activated, you cannot de-activate it.
Effects of Activating the Sub-recipes Functionality
Servings Functionality Will Not Be Available Anymore
Once the Sub-recipes functionality is activated, you will not be able to use the Servings function. In case you had Servings in the system, they will be automatically saved as Recipes in the system with user name "AUTOM".
Recipes Created From Servings Will Be Marked With [!]
When a recipe is automatically created from a serving it will be marked with [!] in front of the name. In addition the text: "Recipe has been created automatically from serving" will be shown in the Memo of the Recipe.
The System Will Create a New Recipe from Sub-recipes That Are Missing the Original Recipe
If there are sub-recipes in the system that are missing the original recipe, the system will automatically create new recipes from them with user name "AUTOM".
Printing Sub-recipes
You can print sub-recipes either on their own pages or directly after the recipe without any page breaks. You can choose the print setting in the additional settings tab when printing the recipe.
Editing Sub-recipes
You will not be able to edit sub-recipes when you are working on the main recipe. If you need to edit a sub-recipe you can do it on the recipe that is used as a sub-recipe. The changes will be valid in all recipes where the recipe is used as a sub-recipe.
If you want to edit a sub-recipe recipe-specifically, you will have to copy the existing recipe used as a sub-recipe or create a new one, make the changes, and then add the recipe as a sub-recipe.
View Sub-recipe Functionality
You can view the content of a sub-recipe by clicking with the right mouse button on the sub-recipe and choosing View. You can change the amount of portions, and the portion size in the View window but the changes will not be saved in the recipe.
