How to Utilize Recipes

  • Make sure that the ingredients you want to use for the recipes are included in the Basic Data. Add missing ingredients, if needed.
  • Make sure that the recipes you want to use can be found in the system. Add recipes, if needed.

How to Print Labels

  • Make sure that you have the recipes you want to have labels for in the system. Add missing recipes, if needed.
  • If you want to print Nutrition Facts on the label, check that nutritive values have been connected to ingredients used in the recipe.
  • Check the allergens of the recipe.
  • Open a recipe and add new label on the Labels tab.
    • Select Label Template and the Fields for the label
    • Fill in the information and save the label
    • You can preview and print the label through the Print button

How to Create a Production Sheet For a Day

  • Add new production sheet in FOOD - Production Sheet
  • Add the recipes you need to prepare during the day into the production sheet
    • Add the quantities you need to prepare during the day
  • You can print recipes, production sheet, shopping list, and labels from the Production Sheet
  • You can create purchase orders and inventory withdrawals from the Production Sheet

How to Utilize Menus

  • Make sure that you have the recipes you want to use in the menu in the system. Add recipes, if needed.

How to Publish an E Menu to Customers

JAMIX Menu service is an additional feature for JAMIX Kitchen Intelligence System. If it is not included in your plan, please contact your Account Manager of info@jamix.com.

  • Make sure that you have the menu you want to publish in the system. Add a menu, if needed.
  • Check that the nutritive values are connected with the ingredients included in the recipes on the menu.
  • Publish the menu to JAMIX Menu service.

How to Collect Customer Feedback on Menus

Customer Feedback is an additional feature for JAMIX Kitchen Intelligence System. If it is not included in your plan, please contact your Account Manager of info@jamix.com.

  • Make sure that you have the menu you want to publish in the system. Add a menu, if needed.
  • Create new survey in FOOD - Surveys. Make sure that the User Level of the survey matches the User Level of the Menu to be published.
  • Open the menu to be published and select the survey in the General tab
  • Publish the menu to JAMIX Menu service
  • Monitor feedback in FOOD - Feedback

How to Get Information on the Nutritional Content of Food

JAMIX System includes Nutritive Values. You can also add Nutritive Values into the system.

  • Make sure that you have all the needed Ingredients in the system. Add Ingredients, if needed.
  • Connect Nutritive Values to Ingredients.
  • Make sure that you have all the needed Recipes in the system. Add Recipes, if needed.
    • You can monitor Nutritive Values for recipes in the Recipes function
  • Make sure that you have a menu in the system. Add a menu, if needed.
    • You can print nutritional calculations for the menu in the Menus function
    • You can monitor Nutrition Facts in the E Menu published with JAMIX Menu Service.

How to Bring Out Food Safety

Allergens

Make sure that you have all the required allergens in the Basic Data. Add allergens, if needed.

  • Connect allergens into Nutritive Values based on the purchase products you are using
  • Connect Nutritive Values with Ingredients or Stock Cards in use (Prices, Nutritive Values, Allergens)
  • Allergens included in ingredients and recipes will be shown in recipes and in E Menus published with JAMIX Menu service.

Diets

  • Create diets in the Basic Data. The most common diets are included in the system.
  • Add the applicable diets into recipes. Remember to check the applicability of the diets whenever you make changes in the ingredients of a recipe.

How to Get Information on Ingredient Costs

  • You can import suppliers' product information into the system with EDI or with an Excel sheet. EDI import can be utilized in the United States only.
    • EDI: Contact the supplier and agree with them to start sharing product information in EDI format
    • Excel sheet: Ask for the product information from the supplier in an Excel file. Information in the file has to be in Jamix Format
  • Run Product Data Update either with EDI (US only) or Excel sheet. The system will create Stock Cards for purchase products.
  • Connect Stock Cards to Ingredients in BASIC DATA - Ingredients
  • After you have made the connections, update prices with the Prices button either in the Recipes function or in the Menus function.
  • You can view ingredient costs and make margin calculations for a recipe in the Recipes function. 
  • You can have information on costs also in the Menus function. Print the cost calculation in Menus - Print - Calculations.

How to Monitor Sales and Left-over/Wastage

  • Make sure that you have the needed ingredients and recipes in the system. Add ingredients and recipes, if needed.
  • Make sure that you have a menu in the system or add a menu.
  • Make sure that portion sizes and amounts of portions have been registered for the recipes and ingredients included in the menu.
  • Register Sales and Left-over/Wastage in the Menus function.

How to Monitor the Use of Domestic Ingredients

  • Make sure that you have your purchase products as Stock Cards in the system. Add Stock Cards, if needed.
  • Add Country of Origin as a Sort Group in BASIC DATA  - Groups - Sort Groups
    • Open the Country of Origin sort group and add your country name as a Field to the sort group
  • Add the sort group to the Stock Cards of domestic items
  • Register deliveries in the system. The report is based on deliveries.
  • Create a Stock Events Report

How to Monitor the Use of Organic Ingredients

  • Make sure that you have your purchase products as Stock Cards in the system. Add Stock Cards, if needed.
  • Add Organic as a Sort Group in BASIC DATA  - Groups - Sort Groups
  • Add the sort group to the Stock Cards of organic items
  • Register deliveries in the system. The report is based on deliveries.
  • Create a Stock Events Report

How to Get Information on the Carbon Footprint of Food

CO2 Calculator is an additional feature for JAMIX Kitchen Intelligence System. If it is not included in your plan, please contact your Account Manager of info@jamix.com.

  • Make sure that Nutritive Values have been connected to either Ingredients or Stock Cards. Add connections, if needed.
  • Add CO2 values to Nutritive Values in BASIC DATA - Nutritive Values
  • You can view the carbon footprint for recipes in:
    • The CO2 tab of Recipes
    • The Calculations printout in the Menus function
    • The E Menu published with JAMIX Menu Service

How to Make Purchase Orders to Suppliers

  • Ask your supplier how they want to receive orders. You can send purchase orders from JAMIX System as email or as electronic order. You can also download the order as XML File from JAMIX System.
  • Register supplier information in BASIC DATA - Suppliers
  • If you want to make a purchase order based on a menu, make sure that you have an up-to-date menu in the system. You can also create an order manually.

How to Take Inventory

  • Make sure that you have all the items as Stock Cards in the system. Add Stock Cards, if needed.
    • You can easily create Stock Cards based on product information from suppliers with the Product Data Update function
  • You can add information on Location in the Stock Card in order to print the Inventory Take List by locations.

How to Report Purchases

  • Make sure that you have all the items as Stock Cards in the system. Add Stock Cards, if needed.
    • You can easily create Stock Cards based on product information from suppliers with the Product Data Update function
  • Register Delivery either manually or create a delivery from an Order. You can also create deliveries  automatically with the Electronic Deliveries function (additional feature).
  • You can create report templates for purchases in STOCK - Stock Events Report
