JAMIX Mobile Application

With JAMIX Mobile application you can use inventory management functions and create orders. The application works on any mobile device, so it is easy to carry with you. Information will be saved in the device even if you lose internet connection. Once you get back online, you can transfer the information into JAMIX Kitchen Intelligence System.

JAMIX Mobile includes the following STOCK functions:

Orders

  • You can edit existing orders and create new orders.
  • You can send the order to the supplier from JAMIX Kitchen Intelligence System

Deliveries

  • You can see the electronic delivery documents from your suppliers
  • You can register delivered quantities into the delivery
  • If needed, you can add information on possible exceptions or other additional information.
  • You can add items into the delivery, or delete items from it
  • You can mark the delivery as checked
  • If you need to edit prices, you can do that in JAMIX Kitchen Intelligence System

Inventory Take

  • You can register quantities into an inventory take, that has been opened in the JAMIX Kitchen Intelligence System
  • You can take inventory by location, or for all items at once. In addition, you can take inventory for items that do not have a location in the system.
  • You can take inventory with several devices at the same time
  • You can arrange the items by name, by shelf, or by position
  • You can accept and close an inventory take in JAMIX Kitchen Intelligence System

Wastage

  • You can register eg. broken or outdated items as wastage
  • You can define a wastage type and provide additional information for reporting

Logging Into JAMIX Mobile Application

Use the same User ID and password as you use for JAMIX Kitchen Intelligence System. 

Importing Information From JAMIX System Into JAMIX Mobile

When you open a function in JAMIX Mobile application, information related to that function will be imported from JAMIX System. Information transfer requires internet connection. Once the information has been transferred you can work with it and register information in the application even if the device would lose the internet connection. All changes or entries will be saved in the device. They can be transferred into JAMIX System when the device is online.

NOTE! If you run out of battery, or you if you restart the device, you will lose information that has not been transferred into JAMIX System.

Searching And Adding Items In JAMIX Mobile

Searching and adding items works in the same way in all functions in the application. You can search items with EAN code, name, or product code.

You can search for an item as follows:

1. By scanning the item's bar code

  • If you use the application with a smart device including a bar code scanner, start the scanning function in the device, and scan the bar code.
  • If you use the application with a smart phone, choose the camera icon that opens the phone's camera into the screen, and scan the bar code with the camera.

Scan the bar code directly in the main window of the function, for example in the Inventory Take window. You do not need to go to the Search window through the magnifier icon for scanning bar codes. The Search window is meant for manual search.

The application can read the bar code for both a single pack, and a sales batch. It adds and opens the item into the function if it finds an item with matching code in the system. If you are scanning an item with variable weight, and the EAN code includes the weight information, the application will recognize the item and will set the weight according to the information in the code.

The application will provide a notification in case there is no matching bar code in the system.

2. With a search word or code through the magnifier icon

  • The application will start searching for items by name or product code once you have written at least one character in the Search field
  • The application will search items by EAN code, as well, once you have written at least 3 characters in the Search field
  • If you have selected a location or a supplier, the application will limit the search accordingly

3. By browsing the items on the list

The application will show items on the list up to 300 items. If there are more items, they will not be shown on the list, and you need to search for them either by scanning or with a search word.

Processing Information One Function At A Time

You can process information in JAMIX Mobile application one function at a time. When you have processed the information, you can exit the function either by saving the information into JAMIX Kitchen Intelligence System (Save and exit) or without saving (Exit without saving). Only after this you can move on to another function.

Pausing Information Processing

You can pause processing the information, and continue later by leaving the function open. Before pausing make sure how your organization has set the application to work when it has not been used for a while.

The administrator of JAMIX Kitchen Intelligence System can define the settings related to pausing. For more information see instructions for JAMIX Mobile Deployment.

NOTE! If you run out of battery, or you if you restart the device, you will lose information that has not been transferred into JAMIX System.

Updating Information From JAMIX Mobile Into JAMIX Kitchen Intelligence System

Information will be updated from JAMIX Mobile into JAMIX Kitchen intelligence System when you choose Save and exit in the function you are in. Updating requires internet connection. The application will provide a notification if the device is offline when saving.

The information updated from JAMIX Mobile application will replace information in JAMIX Kitchen Intelligence System. Inventory Take makes exception, as you can define in the  settings if you want the quantities to be added or replaced, or if the user is able to choose the way to go. The administrator of JAMIX Kitchen Intelligence System can define the settings related to inventory take. For more information see instructions for JAMIX Mobile Deployment.

Once the information has been updated into JAMIX Kitchen Intelligence System, it will be available to all users.

Related to Inventory Take: In JAMIX Kitchen Intelligence System you can update the information imported from JAMIX Mobile application in the Inventory Takes window with the Refresh list button.

Processing Information With Several Devices At The Same Time

Several users can process information in the same functions at the same time with their own devices. You need to notice that the users cannot see changes made by other users when processing information in a function. For this reason it would be advisable to agree beforehand how information will be processed and saved. 

Orders, Deliveries, Wastage

If several users have processed the same information in JAMIX Mobile, only the information that has been saved last will remain in JAMIX Kitchen Intelligence System.

Inventory Take

If several users are registering quantities at the same time into JAMIX Mobile, you need to make sure, what is the policy in your organization for calculating the quantities when they are updated into JAMIX Kitchen Intelligence System.

The administrator can choose the calculation method from 3 options in the program settings:

  1. The quantities will be added to the quantities saved earlier in the system
  2. The quantities will replace the quantities saved earlier in the system
  3. The user will be able to choose in JAMIX Mobile application one of the previous options.
