How To Replace And Deactivate Discontinued Purchase Products (Stock Cards)

You will get information about discontinued purchase products and their replacements from your supplier.

Replacing a Discontinued Purchase Product

1. Make sure you have the replacing item as stock card in JAMIX System

You can update replacing purchase products with the Product Data Update function utilizing EDI (available in the United States) or an Excel Sheet. You can also create replacing products manually as stock cards in JAMIX System.

2. Open STOCK - Stock Cards

  • Search the stock card for the discontinued product by name.
  • Open the stock card and go to the General tab.
  • Click on Linked Ingredients to see the ingredients that are linked to the stock card.

2. Open BASIC DATA - Ingredients

  • Search the ingredient linked to the stock card by name.
  • Activate the ingredient by clicking on the row.
    • Under the list of ingredients you will see the stock cards linked to this ingredient. 
    • Remove the link to the discontinued item by clicking on Delete.
  • Search for the replacing item under Stock Cards on the right side of the window. Double-click on the stock card to create a link to the ingredient that is activated. Set the stock card as primary by ticking the Primary box.

Now you have replaced a discontinued stock card with another stock card for an ingredient.

 

Deactivating Discontinued Purchase Products

You will have to deactivate stock cards for discontinued purchase products once you have replaced them for the ingredients.

  • Open STOCK - Stock Cards
  • Go to Settings
  • Select all Stores in the upper right corner of the window. This way you can deactivate stock cards for all stores at once.
  • Search the discontinued item by name and select it by ticking the box in front of it.
  • Deactivate the selected stock card by clicking on the Deactivate button on the right side of the window. The stock card will be deactivated in all stores.
