Prices - Nutritive Values - Allergens

This manual tells you how to put the program’s basic data in order so that you’ll be able to create recipes and compile menus with up-to-date information on nutritive values, allergens and prices.

You will be able to create recipes and menus even if the previously mentioned basic data would not be in place. You can add and update basic data also afterwards and information will be updated throughout the system also to recipes and menus that have been created earlier. Note! Existing Labels for Recipes have to be updated separately if you have made changes in the basic data.

1. Check Allergens

The system includes the most common allergens together with illustrative icons both in color and in gray scale. Colored icons will be shown in all functions and printouts where allergens are shown as words. The system uses the gray scale icons on labels and other printouts.

You can add or edit allergens in the BASIC DATA - Allergens function. You can select an illustrative icon from the icon selection included in the system. You can also add your own icons into the system.

2. Connect Allergens to Nutritive Values

The system includes USDA Nutritive Database (United States).

Connect allergens to Nutritive Values in the BASIC DATA - Nutritive Values function. Allergen information will then flow throughout the system to recipes and menus.

Note! You need to get information on food allergens from the manufacturer.

3. Connect Nutritive Values to Ingredients

The system includes the most common ingredients and most of them have already been connected to nutritive values. You can check connection or add it to new ingredients in the BASIC DATA - Ingredients function: Add new ingredient or open existing one and go to the Nutritive Values tab.

4. Create Stock Cards

In order to have price information for ingredients, you need to create Stock Cards for purchase products and connect them with Ingredients.

You can import suppliers' product information including prices into the system's stock cards with EDI or with an Excel sheet. See instructions for Product Data Update.

You can create Stock Cards manually one-by-one, as well. See instructions related to Stock Cards.

5. Connect Nutritive Value to Stock Cards

You can connect Nutritive Values to Stock Cards, as well. This ensures that data related to purchase products is accurate in the system. You can register ingredients and allergens for purchase products in the Nutritive Value related to a specific item. The system will primarily use the nutritive value connected to the Stock Card that is connected to an Ingredient. If no nutritive value has been connected to the Stock Card, the system will use the Nutritive Value connected directly to the Ingredient.

6. Connect Stock Cards to Ingredients

Go to BASIC DATA - Ingredients

Select the ingredient from the list (to select click once)
Search the right Stock Card from the list on the right side of the window
Connect the selected ingredient to the stock card by double-clicking the stock card name. Once the stock card is connected it will be shown under the list of ingredients.
You can connect one or several stock cards to one ingredient
Once the Stock Card is connected to an Ingredient the product data will be updated throughout the system automatically.
